A Gentle Alpine Lake Trek Near Gongga Snow Mountain

Located near Yajiageng in Kangding, Yemahaizi Lake is a hidden alpine lake surrounded by the mountains of the Gongga region. With only a short trekking distance and gentle elevation gain, it offers an accessible way to experience Western Sichuan’s high-altitude landscapes.

A Frozen Blue Lake Beneath Snow Mountains

At approximately 4,100 meters above sea level, Yemahaizi Lake transforms into a spectacular winter landscape. Frozen lake surfaces, snow-covered peaks, and blue alpine scenery create a peaceful mountain atmosphere often described as a hidden mirror beneath the snow mountains.

Perfect for Photography and Scenic Views

The route offers excellent opportunities to capture sunrise over snow peaks, changing clouds, mountain reflections, and the dramatic scenery of the Gongga Mountain region.

A Short Escape Into Western Sichuan Nature

Unlike longer high-altitude treks, Yemahaizi Lake is suitable for travelers who want to experience alpine scenery without a demanding hiking schedule. It is an ideal introduction to the mountains of Western Sichuan.

A Hidden Mountain Landscape Away From Crowds

With fewer visitors compared with famous scenic areas, Yemahaizi Lake provides a quiet and authentic mountain experience surrounded by snow, sky, and wilderness.
