Day 1 — Arrival in Lhasa

Welcome to Lhasa, the spiritual heart of Tibet. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is reserved for rest, allowing your body to gradually acclimatize to the high altitude before beginning your Tibetan adventure.

Day 2 — Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street
Altitude: Lhasa, approx. 3,650 m

Explore Tibet’s most iconic cultural landmarks beginning with the magnificent Potala Palace, once the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to Jokhang Temple, the most sacred monastery in Tibetan Buddhism, before walking through Barkhor Street, where pilgrims, prayer wheels, incense, and traditional Tibetan shops create one of the most authentic cultural experiences in Tibet.

Day 3 — Lhasa → Basong Co → Nyingchi
Distance / Time: Approx. 470 km / 7–8 hrs driving
Altitude: Basong Co approx. 3,480 m → Nyingchi approx. 2,900 m
Accommodation: Nyingchi
Leave central Tibet behind and journey toward the greener landscapes of eastern Tibet. Stop at the beautiful Basong Co, a sacred alpine lake surrounded by forests, snow mountains, and peaceful Tibetan monasteries.
Continue into Nyingchi, often called the “Switzerland of Tibet,” where lower elevations, lush forests, and river valleys create a completely different side of the Tibetan Plateau.

Day 4 — Sejila Mountain Pass & Lulang Forest
Distance / Time: Approx. 200 km / 4 hrs driving
Altitude: Sejila Pass approx. 4,720 m
Accommodation: Bomi
Cross the spectacular Sejila Mountain Pass, where weather permitting, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Mount Namcha Barwa, one of the world’s most beautiful snow peaks.
Explore the tranquil Lulang Forest, famous for its alpine meadows, traditional Tibetan villages, grazing yaks, and dense spruce forests before continuing to Bomi.

Day 5 — Ranwu Lake & Laigu Glacier
Distance / Time: Approx. 240 km / 5 hrs driving
Altitude: Ranwu Lake approx. 3,850 m

Spend the day exploring one of eastern Tibet’s most breathtaking landscapes. Ranwu Lake reflects surrounding glaciers and snow mountains, creating one of the region’s most iconic alpine scenes.
Continue to Laigu Glacier, one of Tibet’s largest glacier systems, where towering ice formations descend toward crystal-clear glacial lakes surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Day 6 — Lakes, Forests & Alpine Valleys
Accommodation: Nyingchi
Enjoy a relaxed day traveling through eastern Tibet’s quieter landscapes, passing alpine lakes, forests, rivers, and peaceful valleys where traditional Tibetan communities continue their pastoral lifestyle.
With fewer visitors than central Tibet, this region offers excellent opportunities for photography and a deeper appreciation of Tibet’s remarkable natural diversity.

Day 7 — Kading Gorge → Lhasa
Distance / Time: Approx. 420 km / 7 hrs driving
Accommodation: Lhasa
Visit Kading Gorge, known for its waterfalls, dense forests, granite cliffs, and mountain streams before beginning the scenic return journey toward Lhasa.
As the landscapes gradually change from forested valleys back to the open plateau, enjoy one final opportunity to experience eastern Tibet’s spectacular scenery.

Day 8 — Yamdrok Lake & Karola Glacier
Distance / Time: Approx. 280 km / 5 hrs driving
Altitude: Yamdrok Lake approx. 4,441 m
Accommodation: Lhasa
Visit the breathtaking Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, famous for its brilliant turquoise waters surrounded by snow-capped mountains and highland pastures.
Continue to Karola Glacier, where massive walls of ancient ice descend almost to the roadside, creating one of Tibet’s most accessible glacier landscapes before returning to Lhasa.

Day 9 — Departure
Transfer: Airport or Railway Station
After breakfast, transfer to Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station for your onward journey, bringing your unforgettable Tibet adventure to a close.
