Day 1 — Arrival in Yushu City

Arrive in Yushu and transfer independently to your hotel. Take time to rest and adapt to the high-altitude environment before beginning the wildlife expedition.

In the evening, join a welcome dinner and expedition briefing to learn about wildlife observation methods, safety considerations, and the upcoming journey.

Day 2 — Yushu • Longbao Wetland • Haxiu Wildlife Observation Area

Travel through Longbao Wetland toward the Haxiu wildlife observation area, entering a remote landscape of alpine valleys, grasslands, and plateau habitats. Begin your first wildlife safari experience with observation points selected according to recent animal activity.

Follow the rhythm of wildlife, departing around sunrise and continuing observation until sunset. Search for snow leopards, blue sheep, Tibetan foxes, wolves, and high-altitude birds such as black-necked cranes.

Day 3 — Haxiu Wildlife Observation Area

Spend a full day exploring the Haxiu observation area, one of the key habitats for Tibetan Plateau wildlife. Continue searching for snow leopards while observing the behavior and movement patterns of wild animals in their natural environment.

Depending on wildlife information and field conditions, explore different observation points to increase opportunities for encounters with snow leopards, Tibetan foxes, wolves, blue sheep, white-lipped deer, and mountain birds.

Day 4 — Haxiu Wildlife Observation Area

Distance / Time: Local wildlife observation
Altitude: Approx. 3,800–4,300 m
Accommodation: Yunta Wildlife Camp (or similar)

Continue exploring the high-altitude valleys and mountain habitats around Haxiu. Wildlife observation follows natural animal activity patterns, with early morning and late afternoon being the key periods for searching.

Look for snow leopards, blue sheep, white-lipped deer, Himalayan marmots, and birds of prey including Himalayan vultures and bearded vultures.

Day 5 — Haxiu • Juela Wildlife Area

Distance / Time: Approx. 4–5 hrs driving
Altitude: Approx. 3,800–4,200 m
Accommodation: Local guesthouse in Juela (or similar)

Transfer toward Juela and continue the wildlife safari in another high-altitude mountain environment. In the afternoon, begin searching for rare species based on local wildlife information and field observations.

The area provides opportunities to observe lynx, blue sheep, Himalayan marmots, white-lipped deer, and other plateau mammals.

Day 6 — Juela • Yushu City

Continue the final wildlife observation route before returning to Yushu. Based on information from local observers and communities, search for remaining opportunities to encounter plateau wildlife.

Return to Yushu in the evening and enjoy a farewell dinner, sharing memories and experiences from the expedition.

Day 7 — Departure from Yushu

After breakfast, the expedition concludes. Transfer independently to Yushu Batang Airport or continue your journey with an extended exploration of the Tibetan Plateau.
