Day 1 — Chengdu to Siguniang Mountain
Depart Chengdu and travel to Dujiangyan Panda Valley to visit giant pandas before continuing into the mountain landscapes of western Sichuan.
Arrive in Siguniang Mountain Town and enjoy sunset views of Mount Siguniang from Maobiliang Viewing Platform, weather permitting.
Day 2 — Shuangqiao Valley & Danba Tibetan Village
Explore Shuangqiao Valley inside Siguniang Mountain, where alpine forests, snow peaks, lakes, and highland scenery create one of western Sichuan’s most beautiful mountain landscapes.
Continue to Danba and stay in a Tibetan village surrounded by traditional homes, mountain slopes, and seasonal pear blossoms.
Day 3 — Danba to Xinduqiao
Travel through Yala Snow Mountain viewing areas, Moshi Park, Tagong Grassland, and Muya Temple while entering the open landscapes of the Tibetan highlands.
Continue along scenic mountain roads toward Xinduqiao, known for Tibetan villages, grasslands, changing light, and panoramic snow mountain views.
Day 4 — Xinduqiao to Litang
Continue west across high-altitude plateau scenery, passing Gaoersi Mountain, Black Stone City, and the famous Tianlu 18 Bends viewing area.
Arrive in Litang, one of the highest towns on the Tibetan Plateau. Oxygen-supported hotel arrangements can be made for added comfort at altitude.
Day 5 — Litang to Batang
Travel across Maoya Grassland, one of the wide open plateau landscapes around Litang, before continuing toward the mountain and lake scenery of Batang.
Visit Sister Lakes and Cuopu Valley, where alpine lakes, forests, and highland scenery create a quieter and more remote side of western Sichuan.
Day 6 — Batang to Zuogong
Enter the eastern Tibetan Plateau and continue through Rumei, the Lancang River region, and dramatic high mountain road scenery.
Cross Jueba Mountain and Dongda Mountain Pass before arriving in Zuogong, surrounded by rugged plateau landscapes.
Day 7 — Zuogong to Basu
Continue along the dramatic mountain roads of eastern Tibet toward Basu.
Experience the famous 72 Bends of Nujiang River, one of the most iconic and visually striking road sections on the G318 overland route.
Day 8 — Basu to Bomi via Ranwu Lake
Travel toward Ranwu Lake, one of eastern Tibet’s most beautiful alpine lake regions surrounded by snow mountains and glacier landscapes.
Visit Laigu Glacier Park before continuing to Bomi, a region known for forests, valleys, and softer mountain scenery.
Day 9 — Bomi to Nyingchi
Visit Bomi’s peach blossom villages in season before continuing through Lulang Forest, one of Tibet’s most scenic forested highland regions.
Arrive in Nyingchi and, weather permitting, enjoy sunset views toward Mount Namcha Barwa from the Sejila Mountain viewing area.
Day 10 — Nyingchi to Basongcuo
Visit Gala Peach Village in the morning before driving toward Basongcuo Lake, one of the most beautiful lake regions in eastern Tibet.
Spend time around the lake surrounded by forests, mountains, and peaceful Tibetan landscapes.
Day 11 — Basongcuo to Lhasa
Drive around Basongcuo Lake before continuing west toward Lhasa.
Arrive in Lhasa in the afternoon or evening, completing the overland transition from Chengdu to Tibet’s cultural capital.
Day 12 — Lhasa City Exploration
Explore Lhasa’s essential cultural landmarks, including the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street.
Experience the spiritual heart of Tibet through temples, pilgrimage streets, local markets, and traditional Tibetan daily life.
