Located in Danba County of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Dangling is one of Western Sichuan’s most beautiful and less-visited mountain regions. Surrounded by snow peaks, alpine lakes, forests, and Tibetan villages, it offers a true wilderness experience away from crowded tourist routes.

The trek leads through the spectacular landscapes around Dangling’s Sacred Peaks, including the famous Hulu Lake, Zhayongcuo Lake, and hidden alpine valleys. Crystal-clear lakes, snow-covered mountains, and changing light create some of the most impressive scenery in Western Sichuan.

Day 1 — Chengdu • Siguniang Mountain • Danba County

Distance / Time: Approx. 370 km / 7–8 hrs driving
Altitude: Chengdu 500 m → Danba 2,100 m
Accommodation: Local guesthouse in Danba County

Depart from Chengdu and travel west through Yingxiu, Wolong, Balang Mountain, and Siguniang Mountain. Along the way, enjoy views of alpine landscapes, mountain valleys, and the impressive peaks of Siguniang Mountain.

Stop at Maobiliang Viewpoint for panoramic views of Siguniang Mountain and continue toward Danba County. After arrival, attend the pre-trek briefing and prepare for the upcoming mountain adventure.

Day 2 — Danba • Dangling Village • Hulu Lake • Zhayongcuo Lake

Distance / Time: Approx. 13 km trekking / 6–7 hrs

After breakfast, drive from Danba to Dangling Village and begin trekking into one of the most beautiful mountain areas of Western Sichuan. Follow the Kelu River Valley toward Hulu Lake, a stunning alpine lake surrounded by snow mountains.

If weather and physical conditions allow, continue toward the viewpoint above Hulu Lake, where you can enjoy panoramic views of both Hulu Lake and Zhayongcuo Lake beneath Dangling’s Sacred Peaks.

Day 3 — Dangling Village • Jiayilacuo Lake • Kardza • Chengdu

Distance / Time: Approx. 370 km / 7–8 hrs driving

After breakfast, transfer to the trekking starting point and hike toward Jiayilacuo Lake, a rarely visited alpine lake hidden among snow mountains, larch forests, and rhododendron valleys.

Known as a hidden gem of Dangling, Jiayilacuo offers a peaceful atmosphere with changing lake colors throughout the seasons. After enjoying the scenery, descend through the valley and return to Chengdu.
