Day 1 — Mianyang → Tangjiahe | Enter the Field
Route: Mianyang → Tangjiahe Nature Reserve
Meet your guide in Mianyang and travel by private vehicle into the forested mountains of northern Sichuan.
Begin at the Tangjiahe Nature Museum with an expert-led introduction to the reserve’s biodiversity, ecosystems, and key wildlife species. Continue to the Nature Education Center to learn how infrared camera traps are used to monitor elusive animals in their natural habitat.
The first day establishes the ecological background for the field observation ahead, helping you understand what lives here, where different species are found, and how wildlife is monitored.

Day 2 — Giant Panda Habitat & Night Wildlife Tracking
Route: Tangjiahe → Baixiongping Conservation Area → Forest Road
After a field safety briefing, head deeper into the conservation area with your wildlife guide. Explore Baixiongping and genuine wild giant panda habitat while scanning the surrounding forest for birds and mammals.
Rather than simply walking through the reserve, observe signs, calls, habitats, and movement patterns with guidance from your wildlife specialist and professional field observation tools.
After dinner, return to the forest for a guided night wildlife patrol. The quieter evening hours reveal a very different side of the ecosystem and create opportunities to search for nocturnal mammals and birds.

Day 3 — River Forests to Mountain Habitats
Route: Riverside Road → Baixiongguan → Motianling → Qingxi Ancient Town
Start early with wildlife and bird observation along lower-altitude riverside and forest habitats, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours when many species are more active.
In the afternoon, move into the higher-altitude environment of Motianling. Explore a contrasting mountain ecosystem with your guide while searching for birds and mammals adapted to different elevations.
Moving between habitats in a single day provides a better understanding of how elevation, vegetation, and environment shape the wildlife found across Tangjiahe.
Finish with dinner and a relaxed evening walk through Qingxi Ancient Town.

Day 4 — Final Morning Wildlife Watch → Departure
Route: Shedao → Shuilingou → Forest Road → Departure
Return to the field early for a final morning of wildlife observation through forest and riverside habitats.
Use what you have learned during the previous days — from habitat awareness and animal signs to species identification — during one final guided search.
After the morning field session and lunch, transfer privately to the airport or railway station for departure.
